Paintings

Paintings can be bought from Tom Nook for 1,960 Bells or Redd's shop for 3,920 Bells. Some of the paintings sold by Redd can be fake, and the museum will not accept these. All paintings sold at Nook's are authentic. Fake paintings are worth 10 Bells when sold to Tom Nook while authentic paintings will sell for 490 Bells. All original paintings can be donated to the museum.

Either the Museum or Tom Nook can identify a fake painting.

The Basic and Common Paintings are Spotlight items sold by Tom Nook. This is the only method to acquire these paintings legitimately (ASIDE FROM BEING DELIVERED FROM ME LOL). Crazy Redd may sell them sometimes, but they are SOMETIMES fakes if found in his shop.

All other paintings (besides the Basic and Common) can only be acquired from Crazy Redd.
